Great Wall Motors extends retail network in the UK
The Chinese carmaker Great Wall Motors (GWM) announced three new Sales and Service Centers for its Ora brand in the UK in Belfast, Chorley, and Exeter. The first showroom to feature the Ora model will be the Charles Hurst Group in Belfast which will open its doors on 6 March. The other two locations will follow on 13 and 24 March.
The brand plans to further scale its infrastructure network in the country this year, hoping to sell around 5,000 units by the end of 2023. GWM Ora is already working with three other retail partners in three locations in the UK that will open a combined seven more locations in the coming months.
While the brand emphasizes the importance of retail work, it has adopted an omnichannel approach. With ‘Ora Online’, customers can reserve vehicles on the internet or book home delivery options.
GWM first presented the first two models of its Ora and Wey brands in 2021. The Ora Cat (or “Funky Cat” for the British market) is fitted with an electric motor on the front axle that produces 126 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. GWM claims acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 160 km/h.
