Sales launch for the electrified GV70 in Europe
With the Electrified GV70, the third fully electric model from Genesis is now officially available in Europe. Following the sales launch, the first vehicles are to be delivered this month.
The Electrified GV70 has been available for pre-order since July – since then, the base price of £64,405 has also been known in the UK.
However, Genesis does not reveal how many vehicles are in the pre-production phase and how many pre-orders there are for the Electrified GV70 in the sales launch announcement. Thus, it is unclear whether the car will be delivered this year if ordered today.
As reported at the model’s November 2021 unveiling, the Electrified GV70 features two electric drives, each producing 160 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque on the front and rear axles. Genesis puts the system power at 360 kW in boost mode, and the combined torque at 700 Nm.
Although it is based on a different platform, the electrified GV70 also uses components from the E-GMP. The battery comes with the familiar 77.4 kWh energy content, and thanks to the 800-volt system voltage, the battery (like the Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60) can be charged from ten to 80 per cent in 18 minutes with up to 240 kW at peak. Genesis states the WLTP range as up to 455 kilometres.
“Electrified GV70 is one of our most exciting models for Genesis in Europe,” says Lawrence Hamilton, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe. “Evolving our successful GV70 model into the new era of electrification, its powerful driving performance, impressive range, elegant styling and exceptional comfort provides huge appeal to modern professionals and families. As our third all-electric model to launch this year, it also continues our commitment at Genesis to become a completely zero emissions brand by 2030.”
