Recall issued for the Nikola Tre in the USA
Nikola has to recall all 93 Nikola Tre battery-electric trucks built to date in the US because improper installation of the seat belt shoulder anchors could reduce protection in a crash. Nikola imports the cabs from Italy, where they are built by manufacturing partner Iveco.
The reason for the recall is that during a pre-delivery inspection, a Nikola employee discovered that the shoulder anchorage on the passenger side seat belt was disconnected from the B-pillar adjuster. Nikola told Iveco, which said the final torque on the passenger seat belt shoulder anchorage was not installed to specification.
