Xos Energy Solutions reveals suite of DC fast chargers
US electric commercial vehicle manufacturer and fleet service provider Xos announced a new offering from Xos Energy Solutions. The offering includes a suite of Xos DC Fast Chargers that are compatible with both passenger and commercial electric vehicles.
Xos Energy Solutions, which is the Xos business unit focused on comprehensive infrastructure and consulting services, is offering five chargers include a 30 kW portable EV charger, a 30 kW wall-mount charger, a 60 kW charger, a 150 kW charger, and a 300 kW charger.
The new chargers will be offered alongside the Xos Hub mobile charging station Xos Serve, which is an on-demand infrastructure-as-a-service platform that includes site evaluations, energy storage development and installation, and energy consulting services. Mobile DC charging solutions enable fleet operators to trial charging locations before deciding on stationary systems, as well as providing temporary solutions for specific events.
When announcing the new chargers, Xos said it has already secured a purchase order for the new stations: Chicago-based linen and uniform rental services provider Morgan Services has ordered nine Xos DC Fast Chargers. According to Xos, these will be installed in Morgan Services locations in Los Angeles.
Last year, Xos took orders to supply electric trucks to Merchants Fleet and FedEx in the USA. Earlier this month, LA Business Journal reported that Xos entered partnerships with Gabrielli Truck Sales to offer the suite of Xos vehicles in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, as well as with NationalLease, a large truck leasing business in the USA.
