There’s no easy-going for Tesla’s Autopilot in Germany

Tesla has to improve its driver assistance system Autopilot in Germany once more. The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) identified weaknesses in the system months ago. Tesla has since been able to resolve some of the complaints, but according to a KBA spokesperson, “further remedial measures are still being tested and validated”.

While some of the issues have been sorted, or as the KBA notes, have now been “already partially remedied by the manufacturer”. For the remaining problems, however, Tesla is not out of the hot water yet. Should the US American manufacturer not react, there may be further consequences, as KBA President Richard Damm commented on the situation: “If we do not receive any information, we cannot rule out that systems do not comply with the rules.”
