BMW issues recall for the iX and i4 in the USA

BMW has issued a recall for a small number of its iX and i4 EVs in the US due to a possible fire hazard. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 56 iX and 27 i4 were “manufactured with a high-voltage battery that may not have been produced to specifications by the supplier”.

During production, the cathode plate may have been damaged, and parts may have entered the cells that could cause a short circuit.
