Yutong presents new electric bus in Chile
Yutong recently held a release conference to present its new ‘YESS technology’ and its new battery electric bus in Santiago, Chile. The YESS technology is a proprietary safety technology for traction batteries.
Yuting claims three major improvements in safety, climate capability and road adaptability. In terms of improved battery safety, the technology includes nitrogen protection, which “eliminates the firing condition in the battery pack by putting the battery in an oxygen-free environment in real time,” so the bus maker.
The new electric vehicle is called the ‘T13E’, a high-end battery-electric coach developed for the Chilean market. The electric bus is fitted with a dual motor driving system, “with a maximum gradability of 20% and a strong power”.
While the exact power was not mentioned in the press release, the company did add that “The intelligent AEBS configuration can reduce the risk of collision accidents through collision warning, auxiliary braking and emergency braking that are activated in sequence according to the degree of danger”.
The 80-strong audience at the launch in Chike included the Director of the Santiago Metropolitan Public Transport, VIP customers, Yutong Chile’s business manager and local dealers.
