Genesis reveals prices and specs for the GV70
Genesis has revealed full pricing and specification for the Electrified GV70 SUV, the brand’s third all-electric vehicle following on from the GV60 and Electrified G80. Prices in the UK start at £64,405. First customer deliveries will take place in October this year.
As reported at the model’s launch in November 2021, the Electrified GV70 has two electric drives, each with 160 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque on the front and rear axles. Genesis puts the system power at 360 kW in boost mode, and the combined torque at 700 Nm. Genesis calls the electric versions of models that are also available as combustion engines, such as the Electrified G80 sedan, “Electrified”. The smaller electric SUV GV60 does without this name suffix: It is based on the E-GMP and is therefore only available with pure electric drive.
Although it is based on a different platform, the Electrified GV70 also uses components from the E-GMP. The battery comes with the familiar 77.4 kWh energy content, and thanks to the 800-volt system voltage, the battery (like the Kia EV60 and GV60) can be charged from ten to 80 per cent in 18 minutes with up to 240 kW at peak. Genesis gives the WLTP range as up to 455 kilometres.
In addition, there are first statements about the options list: There will be a technology package and a comfort package. The former includes safety and assistance systems such as a 360-degree camera, Highway Assist II (HDA II) and Automatic Parking Assist, while the Comfort Package includes various comfort features such as a heated steering wheel and three-zone automatic climate control. An audio system, seat comfort package or Nappa leather seat package can be ordered separately, as can the panoramic glass roof and the vehicle-to-load function already familiar from the E-GMP models. Prices for the individual packages and options are not mentioned in the announcement.
“Delivering the core Genesis values of premium performance, intuitive technology and unrivalled luxury, Electrified GV70 also provides exceptional versatility and an electric experience that demands no compromise from customers,” said Dominique Boesch, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe. “Electrified GV70 is the third electrical vehicle from Genesis this year, and underlines our commitment to sustainability as we move towards our goal of being carbon neutral by 2035.”
