Jebsen & Jessen signs on as Mellor sales partner
The English bus manufacturer Mellor has entered into a sales partnership for its battery-electric buses in Germany and Austria. The Hamburg-based company Jebsen & Jessen Industrial Solutions will take over the sales and service of Mellor’s electric buses in both countries.
Together, Mellor and Jebsen & Jessen want to offer their customers a “holistic e-mobility retail experience”. For example, the Hamburg-based company offers a route and service analysis so that bus operators can choose the vehicle configuration best suited to their needs. Jebsen & Jessen operates a network of workshops that are able to “meet Mellor’s high service standards”, according to the UK manufacturer’s statement.
The models that Jebsen & Jessen is to distribute in Germany and Austria also include the new Sigma battery-electric bus family, which will be presented at the end of 2021. This is a midibus series that covers the range from seven to twelve metres in overall length – there are over 20 variants in total.
The electric buses of the Orion series are also to be offered in this country. This is a 7.5-metre-long minibus based on the Fiat Ducato. With a 92 kWh battery, the Mellor Orion can travel up to 160 kilometres. The vehicle is available in variants for 16 or 23 passengers, each with or without a footprint and ramp for wheelchairs or other companions.
“Jebsen & Jessen’s outstanding reputation in the DACH region will be of great benefit to Mellor as we continue to grow our share of the international zero emission bus market,” says Gustavo Marqueta, Group Business Development Director at Mellor. “We look forward to introducing our size- and cost-appropriate electric bus portfolio to new public and private transport companies in this growing region.”
Martin Gruber, Managing Director and Head of Transportation/e-Mobility at Jebsen & Jessen, adds: “We look forward to working with Mellor and their team on future e-mobility projects and are proud to add the electric midi and minibus solutions to our product portfolio.”
