The EU-wide tender covers 10,000 chargers over a period of four years. The tender is only for the purchase of the charging technology, not the installation. The chargers are not only intended for Stockholm Parkering but also for other parking operators in the City of Stockholm, which are the companies Stockholmshem, Svenska Bostäder, Familjebostäder and Skolfastigheter i Stockholm (SISAB).

Stockholm Parkering already makes 5,000 charging points for electric cars available to is customers. This corresponds to half of the parking spaces the company currently owns. In this context, we recently reported on an order for CTEK for more than 1,000 charging points. Now Stockholm Parkering is aiming to electrify 100% of its parking spaces, and in addition, to also support other companies in the city with the expansion of charging points. Questions from interested parties in the tender will be accepted until 15 August. Bids must be submitted by 30 August 2022.

“The City of Stockholm has high ambitions for charging infrastructure. Already by the end of next year, between 20 and 30 per cent of the city’s surface car parks and garages will be equipped with charging facilities,” says Christian Rockberger, CEO of Stockholm Parkering. “That Stockholm Parkering, as a leading provider of charging infrastructure, can now also contribute to the city’s lofty goals is both an honour and a challenge.”

Update 31 March 2023

Swedish charging operator Eways has won the above-mentioned tender and will install chargers for 10.000 parking spaces for Stockholm Parkering over the next four years. “In four years, we go from roughly 5,000 charging points to 15,000 charging points. Which is needed when soon every fourth car in Stockholm is rechargeable”, the latter writes in its press release. It also says there will be charge points in all of its 21 car parks by the end of the year.

Company CTEK will deliver the hardware. The Chargestorm Connected 2 EV charger is the same charger that was installed in Stockholm Parkering’s car park ‘Nora Stationsparken’ in 2022. According to the images published with the press release, the chargers are ceiling-mounted, each with two Type 2 connections.

The deal is worth about 80 million Swedish Krones, or about $7,7 million.
