Teenagers hack GO Sharing scooters

In Brussels, almost all GO Sharing electric were recently stolen by young people who had figured out how to circumvent the rental system. According to the Brussels Times, the thieves even offered crash courses for their method online, stole the electric scooters for joyrides and drove until the battery was empty.

A software update has been implemented that should prevent further such incidents. On the other hand, getting young people outdoors is not always a bad thing. “The youngest was a 13-year-old,” a police spokesperson confirmed. “Between Sunday and Monday, we intercepted about ten young people who were playing with these rentable electric scooters in the commune of Uccle. They had come here in small groups to find them.”
