EKPO Fuel Cell appoints new management
EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies has announced a change in management. Armin Diez, previously one of the three managing directors of EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies left the company at his own request and for private reasons on 31 December 2021. His successor Stefan Schmid began on 1 February 2022.
With the appointment of Schmid, the EKPO management is now complete again around the two other managing directors Gernot Stellberger and Julien Etienne, according to the joint venture of ElringKlinger and Plastic Omnium for fuel cells. Armin Diez had been working for ElringKlinger since 1990 – since 2011 as Head of Battery Technology, with Fuel Cell Technology being added in 2016. With the founding of EKPO, he became one of the three managing directors in March 2021.

Most recently, he played a pivotal role during the founding stages of EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies in his capacity as General Manager.”
Stefan Schmid has been with ElringKlinger since 2003. A graduate in chemical engineering, he has been Chairman of the Management Board of ElringKlinger Kunststofftechnik GmbH since 2012 and has headed up the Production, IT and Human Resources divisions. At EKPO, he will be responsible for Production, IT, Quality and Sustainability Management on the Management Board. Stellberger is responsible for Strategy, Finance, Purchasing, Human Resources and Advanced Development, while Julien Etienne is in charge of Sales, Marketing, Programmes and Product Engineering.
