China takes steps to protect superchargers

In China, Tesla took an interesting approach to try to prevent ICEing a Supercharger by deploying floor locking devices that pop up from the ground at some new Supercharging stations in 2019. Now the solution is spreading fast across China.

Tesla tested a solution against charging station blockers in the form of a physical barrier at Supercharger locations in China and Taiwan in 2019. Now the solution is apparently being installed at every new Supercharger in China and can be controlled directly with the Tesla app.
