Paris introduces a speed limit for electric scooters
Paris introduces a 10 km/h speed limit for e-trekkers after a series of accidents involving pedestrians. The speed limit will apply throughout the city, with the exception of a few major streets, and is due to be implemented in the first half of December.
In July, Paris had even threatened the operators of electric scooters with the revocation of their licences. France is not the only country battling with the legal distinction between vehicles and electric scooters, as Sweden recently also began looking on ways to cut down on the traffic. In Norway, Oslo also instituted a limit on electric scooter numbers, as well as a nighttime riding ban between 23:00 and 05:00.
