Bluekens to sell all-electric BYD trucks & vans
BYD has appointed Bluekens EV as the first dealer in the Netherlands for its all-electric trucks and vans. The company is a subsidiary of Bluekens Group and will handle sales and after-sales services for BYD electric commercial vehicles up to twelve tonnes in the Netherlands.
Bluekens EV says it aims to develop a 360-degree approach to BYD’s vehicle sales and aftersales operations, offering services such as charging, fleet management and leasing solutions.
The Dutch company will be stocking up with the BYD ETM6 eTruck, but the partnership apparently also covers other BYD models, most likely to be the ETP3, an electric van, and the EYT, a tractor.
In the Netherlands, the first customers are already onboard. According to BYD, the companies Top Delivery Services (TDS) and HAVI Logistics have each recently started using the ETM6 eTruck.
Bluekens Group and BYD have been working together since 2007. This initially involved the Chinese company’s range of electric buses. BYD Europe says that the appointment of Bluekens EV as BYD’s sales and service partner for trucks and vans is based on proven synergies and shared values.
“BYD is a valuable addition to the Dutch market in many ways,” adds Gert-Jan Jonker, General Manager of Bluekens EV. “The distinctive vans and trucks, for example the 7.5-tonne BYD ETM6, are particularly efficient for the activities of retailers, postal and parcel services and logistics providers. BYD’s battery technology has already proven itself over the past years. We are proud to be the first partner of BYD eTrucks in the Netherlands.”
