Britain’s self-made fuel crisis
Because an estimated 100,000 truck drivers have gone back to where they came from because of Brexit, petrol is becoming increasingly scarce at British petrol stations. Panic buying has been going on for days. Now apparently soldiers are to help deliver the fuel.
Prime minister Boris Johnson took to television to calm down the public, stating: “We now are starting to see the situation improve. We are hearing from industry that supplies are coming back onto the forecourt in the normal way and I would just really urge everybody to go about their business in the normal way.”
In response, the Labour opposition party accused his administration of “lurching from crisis to crisis”.
