Serial 1 pedelecs now available at European Harley-Davidson dealerships
The Harley-Davidson subsidiary Serial 1 has announced a sales partnership with Harley-Davidson Europe to bring a range of their electric bicycles to Harley dealers across Europe starting this summer.
The Serial 1 brand was founded by Harley-Davidson and introduced in autumn 2020, and launched with a range of four city pedelecs aimed at city commuters and “occasional cyclists”. Performance ranged from entry model MOSH/CTY with a 529 Wh battery on board and a range of 56 to 168 kilometres to the RUSH/CTY pedelec with a 706 Wh battery and a range of 56 to 185 kilometres. The prices announced at the time stood between €3,499 and €4,699. Another model was announced to be a US exclusive, the RUSH/CTY Speed (706 Wh).
The pedelecs from Serial 1 will be sold at Harley-Davidson dealers across western Europe, including in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. Prices for the European models start with €3,499 for the MOSH/CTY, which retains the same battery and 56 to 168 kilometre range. The RUSH/CTY STEP-THRU will launch at a price of €4,599 and the range-topping RUSH/CTY will launch with €4,699. The top speed for these models is limited to 25 km/h.
By expanding with an eBike subsidiary, Harley-Davidson is expanding into segments beyond the traditional heavy motorcycles the company is known for. Their first foray into battery-electric mobility came in the form of the LiveWire electric motorcycle, which was recently also spun off into its own subsidiary.
“The dynamic, fast-growing eBicycle market is at the forefront of a global mobility revolution,” says Aaron Frank, Brand Director for Serial 1. “Offering the Serial 1 eBicycles in dealerships across Europe allows Harley-Davidson to play a key role in this mobility revolution while allowing Serial 1 to deliver an unmatched riding experience rooted in fun, freedom and adventure on two wheels.”
