Not smart if you can’t start
Mercedes-Benz is recalling 1,463 units of its EQC electric model worldwide, 136 of these in Germany. Due to inadequate sealing of the high-voltage battery housing, corrosion could lead to moisture ingress, making it impossible to restart the vehicle. In addition, there is an increased risk of fire.
The recall affects vehicles built in 2019 anywhere in the world. In Germany, a total of 136 EQC owners will have to prepare for an additional visit to the workshop. Mercedes will rework the sealing of the high-voltage battery on site. So far, no incidents involving property damage and/or personal injury have been reported.
