New Vauxhall Grandland available to order in the UK
The new Vauxhall Grandland is available to order now in the UK. The new Grandland PHEV is available from £34,365, representing a saving of over £6,000 compared with the comparable outgoing model.
The new model is based on the Grandland compact SUV, which has been given a facelift. Formerly known as the Grandland X, the model now wears the brand’s new face, as did the Mokka and Mokka-e, and will continue to be offered with plug-in hybrid variants with or without all-wheel drive.
In the front-wheel drive version, a 147 kW petrol engine is supplemented with an 80 kW electric motor, and the system output is 165 kW. The familiar all-wheel-drive PHEV has a system output of 220 kW, with an additional 80 kW e-motor mounted on the rear axle to provide “electric all-wheel drive”.
However, cosmetic upgrades are not all that was done for the new Grandland, as the new models are also available with ‘Night Vision’ technology, a first for Vauxhall, with the system capable of detecting pedestrians and animals in darkness at a distance of up to 100m and alerting the driver.
“With a bold design, class-leading technologies and high-tech interior, the New Grandland is set to appeal to a wide-range of new and existing customers,” said Paul Willcox, Managing Director, Vauxhall, adding: “With significant savings on the cost price of PHEV models compared to earlier iterations, it has never been more affordable to own Vauxhall’s flagship SUV. Vauxhall is committed to offering a fully-electrified line-up by 2024 and we’re looking forward to seeing the New Grandland on the road later this year.”
