Xiaomi to unleash hydrogen motorcycle
Xiaomi announces the Segway Apex H2, a futuristic-looking motorcycle with hydrogen propulsion. The manufacturer says the fuel cell bike will become available by 2023 for 10,700 US dollars, currently the equivalent of around 9,000 euros.
With a design looking like it came straight out of Blade Runner, the hydrogen-powered motorbike is certainly eye-catching. The technical specifications have also been released by the manufacturer, who claims that the hybrid motorcycle could produce 60 kW (80 horsepower), accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in four seconds, and reach a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph).
Segway was originally famous for the unusual single-person transport vehicles often seen ridden by tourists in major cities. Last year, Segway announced the end of the Segway PT (Personal Transporter), and is focusing on more traditionally designed two-wheelers. However, the company did announce another unusual design in 2018. Xiaomi bought Segway in 2015, and has certainly helped the company round out its mobility offer.
