Total recall – fire in combustion engines
There are currently two major recalls for combustion engine models due to possible fire hazards in a total of around 644,000 cars. Both ICE models from Kia and Mercedes-Benz are affected.
Kia recalls about 380,000 Sportage and Cadenza models in the USA. A short circuit in the control unit for the electro-hydraulic brake system could cause a fire, so Kia asks owners to park outdoors until repairs are made.
The second recall affects more than 264,000 Mercedes vehicles of the C-Class and GLC series, which have to go to the workshops because of a possible fault in a fire protection system.
