Onto expands UK fleet by 300 Audi e-tron
The British electric car subscription service Onto has expanded its fleet again, this time with 300 Audi e-tron. Onto already has a four-digit number of electric cars from various manufacturers, but these are the first from the VW Group.
According to Audi UK, this will be the e-tron 55 in the “Black Edition”. In the Onto subscription, the vehicle is to be available from 1,299 pounds (1,517 euros). This price includes insurance, service, all charging costs and 1,000 free miles (1,609 kilometres).
According to Andrew Doyle, Director of Audi UK, Onto’s order for 300 e-tron units is the largest order for the electric SUV in the UK to date. He expressly welcomes the fact that the premium vehicles will be offered on a subscription basis in future. “This acutely convenience-focused service has real potential to be a key driver of attitudinal change and wider integration of greener mobility,” says Doyle. He adds that Onto’s commitment is valuable “in breaking down as many perceived barriers to electric vehicle ownership and use as possible”.
Previously, Onto had already ordered 1,100 Renault Zoe, 300 each of PSA’s Peugeot e-208 and DS 3 Crossback E-Tense, and 150 Kona Electric and 125 Ioniq Electric from Hyundai. In addition, the subscription provider, which is only active in Great Britain, also offers the classic Nissan Leaf and BMW i3, but also the Tesla Model 3 and the Jaguar I-Pace.
