Ford to improve scooter AI

Ford plans to equip electric kick- scooters from its micromobility subsidiary Spin with driver assistance systems in cooperation with Drover AI. Together, they aim to bring Level 2 automation to electric scooters.

The Level 2 automation, which involves the use of a camera, an array of sensors and computing power, is expected to enable, among other things, improper driving and parking of electric scooters on the sidewalk to be detected with an expected accuracy of more than 95 per cent. New York City could be the first city to deploy this technology on a large scale.
