The charging station operator InstaVolt announced a significant partnership with the fried chicken fast-food giant KFC, which will see rapid chargers installed at up to 450 KFC drive-thru restaurants at locations across the UK and Ireland.

The roll-out includes KFC’s restaurants as well as franchise businesses and will add to InstaVolt’s existing chargers at KFC restaurants in Sheffield, Nottingham, Rotherham and Crewe, the company said. Locations in London and Hampshire are set to come online over the next few months.

InstaVolt’s Commercial Director Lee Adams said: “We seek out sites that have great facilities for drivers. With hundreds of KFC restaurants in easily accessible locations and a dwell time that’s great for on-the-go charging, our partnership with KFC is the perfect collaboration.”

The company announced a similar cooperation with Mc Donald’s in the UK in June this year, using the same argument.

So far, InstaVolt runs 500 rapid charging stations on the Isles.
