UK Green number plates fail to raise awareness so far
The British government will introduce special license plates for electric cars this autumn as reported in June of this year. A survey now found that 88 per cent of British motorists were unaware of the introduction of these green number plates four months after the announcement.
Further questions about the measure regarding potential parking prioritisation for EVs revealed that only a combined total of 29% of respondents said that they would be more inclined to purchase a BEV following such a measure. Nevertheless, 57% of drivers stated that the prospect of being able to enjoy this added benefit would make no difference in terms of increasing their desire to buy a pure electric vehicle. Six per cent even said that such measures would turn them off buying an EV.
