Fuel cell spacecraft from Japan
The manned FC lunar vehicle that Toyota is developing with the Japanese space agency JAXA is taking shape. Currently, test parts for all technological components are being developed for the rover prototype, which will be named the Lunar Cruiser.
The Lunar Cruiser is powered by the same fuel cell tech that powers the Toyota Mirai. Testing involves the use of simulations to analyze power and heat dissipation performance while driving, as well as prototype tires. To consider the layout of equipment in the cabin of the Lunar Cruiser the use of virtual reality and full-scale models is being employed.
