Kia increases UK supply of e-Niro to meet demand
In the UK, Kia has increased the supply of its e-Niro and Soul EV electric crossovers to meet “intense demand” and shorten waiting times. After the Korean brand offered new cheaper e-Niro options at the end of June, Kia said that July was its best month on record according to UK sales.
In July Kia was able to sell 28% more e-Niro and the Soul EV than the same period last year. Towards the end of June Kia started offering UK customers new cheaper e-Niro options. The Niro range comes in hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions and was Kia’s best-selling model in July.
Now, to keep up with demand, around 800-9000 e-Niros are making their way to the UK. Already this year around 7000 units have been sold this year. Kia is telling customers that they those who place their e-Niro order now could have their electric car as early as next month.
Paul Philpott, CEO of Kia UK, said: “The Niro family has brought increased variance, style and eco credentials to our UK product offering. With the additional e-Niro availability coming to our shores it places our dealer partners in a better position to satisfy the huge demand we have received for the vehicle.” He added: “What’s more, the recently launched Soul EV adds to this ability to give our customers what they want when they want it.”
