Fiat taking orders for limited edition hatchback 500
As the first limited version ‘La Prima’ of the Fiat 500 electric car is now no longer available as a convertible, now, pre-orders for the more affordable hatchback version are starting.
According to an announcement by the FCA Group, this next model of the small EV will start at £26,995 including Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG) and easyWallbox fitment in the UK. As with the convertible version, a wall box is already included in this price. Fiat is satisfied with the pre-orders for the ‘La Prima’ Cabrio, which is limited to 500 units.
Now the “Phase 2 of the reservation” begins. There is no question of a limitation for the hatchback version of the “new” 500. The “easyWallbox” included in the price has an output of 2.3 kW, and the ‘La Prima’ model is also extensively equipped. The equipment includes a panoramic glass sunroof and, compared to the convertible, a new rear spoiler and a classic tailgate. The 500 ‘La Prima’ is equipped as standard with an 85 kW fast charger, the ‘UConnect 5’ infotainment system and eco-leather for the dashboard and seats.
The technical data correspond to those of the convertible: the battery has an energy content of 42 kWh (although Fiat does not specify whether this is the gross or net value), the electric motor has an output of 87 kW, and the manufacturer determines the standard range as 320 kilometres. The maximum speed was limited by the Italians to 150 kph, for the standard sprint from a standing start to 100 km/h Fiat specifies nine seconds. By the way, the AC charging power of the electric 500 is 11 kW in some countries, internationally Fiat speaks of 7.4 kW. Further details about the platform of the new 500 can be read here.
Later, cheaper versions of the small Fiat 500 electric car are to follow, then also without wall box and eco-leather. The exact scope and prices are not yet known.
