Citroën C5 Aircross PHEV up for order in the UK
Citroën has officially opened the order books for the new C5 Aircross plug-in hybrid in the UK. It is being offering it in two grades named the Flair and Flair Plus. Pricing starts at £35,340 and £36,815 respectively. Customer deliveries will begin in mid-2020.
While Citroën had previously announced both the price and expected delivery time frame for the C5 Aircross, things are now looking significantly more official. The two-vehicle versions mainly differentiate in cosmetic terms, such as the two-tone alloy wheels or leather upholstery. With a price difference of only £1,475 we did not expect the Flair Plus to be rocking a more powerful trim.
In terms of technical performance, the plug-in hybrid offers a system output of 165 kW, to which the electric motor contributes 80 kW. The battery with a capacity of 13.2 kWh enables a purely electric WLTP range of up to 50 kilometres. The battery is charged exclusively with AC, but the built-in onboard charger is only designed for single-phase. At an appropriate wall box or public AC charging point, the charging time should be less than three hours. At a household socket, Citroën indicates a charging time of seven hours.
