NIO presents the electric EC6
With the EC6, the Chinese electric car manufacturer NIO has presented its third model after the ES8 and ES6. The NIO EC6 is a crossover SUV with two electric motors that produce 160 and 240 kW.
It seems NIO does not intend to reveal more detailed technical data and the prices of the EC6 until July 2020. Deliveries are scheduled to start in September 2020. For the EC6 and the revised ES8, which will be delivered from April, NIO will offer a new battery pack with 100 kWh capacity from the fourth quarter of 2020.
The ES8 has received a functional update – apart from the acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a reported range of up to 615 km, according to NEDC, the battery has been upgraded to a 100 kWh pack. Deliveries of the upgraded electric SUV will not take place until the fourth quarter of the year, though.
