Nissan presents rolling X-mas tree

For the running Christmas season, Nissan has decided to turn a Leaf into a rolling holiday decoration with electric candles and plenty of tinsel. The lights are powered with energy from the regenerative brakes.

We don’t expect the Christmas trim to go serial, even if the car shows off the regenerative braking system quite effectively, as Nissan boasts in their statement: “…the average Nissan LEAF driver regenerates 744kWh* of clean energy if they drive 18,000 km,” before listing some potential applications of that power.
