Peugeot uses noise pollution to charge EV (video)
Can you urban noise pollution to charge an electric car? Peugeot did indeed as part of an advertising campaign for its new all-electric e-208 vehicle.
To demonstrate the principle, Peugeot set up a billboard in the heart of Paris. The board contained thousands of acoustic sensors with piezoelectric properties. This means certain materials capable to generate an electric charge in response to applied mechanical stress – sound waves in this case.
