Trottinettes under threat

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has had enough of misplaced electric scooters. Paris city authorities will now regard electric scooters that end up in the wrong places as rubbish and will dispose of them accordingly.

While many cities have struggled with the unruly electric scooters, Paris has been quite resolute in their treatment – a parking fine is also possible with the scooters. However, this potential law, which is still being discussed, would then put increased pressure on the companies to make sure their scooters are parked in the designated areas (which the city has graciously provided), unless they want to go trawling through the garbage dump to reclaim their vehicles.
