MG Motor reveals first details for debut BEV
After a prototype of the MG ZS EV was recently filmed at the Kreuz Hilden charging park, the British SAIC brand MG Motor has now opened the order books for its first electric model and announced the first official details.
It was confirmed that the MG ZS EV will be equipped with a water-cooled 44.5 kWh battery. At 7 kW, the AC charging process takes around 6.5 hours from 0 to 100 percent. The DC charging process from 0 to 80 percent should be completed within 43 minutes.
Not yet officially confirmed is the capacity of 110 kW and range of 280 kilometres according to WLTP standards, which Bäcker Schüren’s technicians have achieved. The prices and the complete specifications will also be published shortly before the British launch on the 1st of September. Since March, MG has received more than 800 expressions of interest for the model.
Meanwhile this weekend, MG Motor had the ZS EV prototype with them at the London Motor Show. Externally it hardly differs from the petrol version, which is also for sale. The rest of the technical details regarding the vehicle are sparse. All we know for sure is that the electric SUV will be equipped with a new panoramic sunroof as standard and that a number of connectivity instruments will be available from Apple CarPlay to satellite navigation. At the fair, visitors also had the opportunity to reserve a place on the waiting list for a deposit at the stand. MG did not say how high the deposit will be.
