Audi e-tron stars in Avenger but disguised as ICE

The release of the new Avengers movie has caused an uproar in German media. Where Audi was to star its all-electric e-Tron GT concept car, the battery electric e-tron can be heard roaring like a combustion engine – deliberately, a spokesman suggested.

According to the German news magazine Spiegel Online, this was a move requested from the film’s sound engineers. Audi spokesman Josef Schloßmacher said that “the production company wanted us to create an emotional sound for the e-tron GT that would also match the film.” Sad is the emotion at our end, but perhaps we must be glad they did not bring out the smoke machine?!
