e.GO to show sports version of debut EV & private bus
The German electric car startup e.GO Mobile will present two new vehicles at the Geneva Motor Show. The e.GO Life Concept Sport is a sporty version of the company’s debut EV e.GO Life, whilst the e.GO Lux is a small electric bus reimagined for private use.
In addition, e.GO Moove, a joint venture of e.GO Mobile and ZF, has the near-series version of the e.GO Mover electric shuttle ready to go and on display in Geneva. Pre-orders for the electric transporter that can take up to 15 passengers or cargo have already been accepted since the end of 2017. Production is being set up with the help of Rehau.
The e.GO Life Concept Sport is the sports version of the e.GO Life electric car. “The e.GO Life Concept Sport stands for the fun factor of dynamic electric driving and is affordable for everyone at the same time,” says Professor Günther Schuh, CEO of e.GO Mobile. It is still unclear whether there will be technical changes to the powertrain in addition to the optical upgrade.
The e.GO Lux, on the other hand, is an electric bus designed for private use. The buyer can individually choose the outfitting of the minibus, and so has a choice to use the space inside as a mobile conference room, living or office space, according to the press release. Before the e.GO Lux electric bus becomes a reality on the road however, series production of the e.GO Mover shuttle will begin in April 2020 in Aachen, Germany.
The debut EV e.Go Life has sold out in terms of reservations of the first batch of electric cars. E.Go Mobile is aiming for an annual production of up to 20,000 units.
