Fast-charging across the country with Petro-Canada
Petro-Canada has announced that it is building a network of electric vehicle fast-charging stations across the country. Construction is planned to kick-off this spring and the sites should be opening over the next year.
More than 50 EV chargers will be located along the Trans-Canada highway at strategically situated Petro-Canada stations from Nova Scotia to British Columbia.
Petro-Canada stations will be providing DC fast chargers with both CHAdeMO and CCS/SAE connectors which support a wide selection of vehicles. The chargers can provide up to a 200-kilowatt charge – enough to give an 80 per cent charge to most electric vehicles in under 30 minutes. With future upgrades, the units are capable of 350-kilowatt charging.
