Europcar adds additional Zoes to fleet
Europcar has added an additional 85 Renault Zoe electric vehicles to their fleet in the UK. Some of the vehicles are destined for the E-Car Club, a car-sharing business by Europcar, as well as collection and delivery operations.
The car-sharing service will rent the Zoes for £4.50 per hour, and largely be available in North Solihull, where the vehicles will be placed for pickup at nine locations in residential areas.
E-Car Club managing director Patrick Cresswell notes the electric vehicles are popular with their customers: “The Renault Zoe has always worked well and been popular with our members. It’s also been a great way to introduce the public to affordable, all-electric motoring… Our customers especially like how easy it is to use and, as we continue to launch in new areas, it’s highly likely that we will be adding even more to our fleet.”
The rest of the vehicles will be used in delivery and collection services, as part of an effort to improve the brand’s carbon footprint. Gary Smith, managing director of Europcar Mobility Group in the UK, said: “They are playing a pivotal role in helping us to lower our carbon footprint and reach our goal of five per cent of our entire UK vehicle fleet being pure electric by 2020.”
