DE: ChargePoint to supply Daimler dealers
Daimler has selected ChargePoint to install charging equipment at their retailers in Germany ahead of the carmaker’s electrification and EQC roll-out. The agreement comes after Daimler led ChargePoint’s $125 million funding round last year in support of the company’s expansion into Europe.
The deal will see ChargePoint deploy AC and fast chargers up to 150 kW at Daimler stores beginning this year and into 2019. The charging solutions will be available for retailers of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Vans and Trucks.
With a growing team strategically placed around Europe, this new partnership with Daimler comes in advance of several developments on the continent, which ChargePoint has yet to spell out. The course is clearly on expansion however, and the company latest round of financing saw them collect 240 million dollars, this time also with Daimler Trucks & Buses having come on board.
