Kymco presents SuperNEX electric motorcycle at EICMA
Kymco is reaching upward from their electric scooter demographic and has presented their first electric motorcycle at the EICMA show. So far the motorcycle is only the prototype stage, and no specific production plans have been made yet.
The technical data is something to look at with this prototype, however: The Kymco SuperNEX can accelerate from standing to 100 km/h in a cool 2.9 seconds, reaching it’s top speed of 250 km/h in 10.9 seconds. The estimated range was not stated by the developers.
Due to the electrical engineering, most of the electric motorcycles are notable by their almost silent propulsion systems. Kymco does not agree with the notion in a sports bike, however, stating “without sound, the character, sensation, and passion of the machine are lost.” Then they went ahead and added a multi-frequency acoustic generator to simulate motor sounds.
