The journey is the destination
Forget about traveling to reach a destination. The Autonomous Travel Suite is a hotel room in form of a self-driving electric shuttle featuring all amenities.
Each of the autonomously driving hotel rooms features a bed, kitchen, mini bar, restroom and even a workspace. Travel would then begin with the passenger being picked up at home, making themselves comfortable within the “hotel” and arriving at their destination hopefully well rested and comfortable.
The designer is convinced that the format would be cheaper than traditional travel, as it combines both the overnight and the trip into one bundle. While the creators at Aprilli included a ‘parent suite’ for the rooms on the go to dock on, we wonder why would you stop at all?!
