Drug-trafficking allegations thrown at Tesla

We trust you will remember our never-ending story of allegedly shady dealings at Tesla. Now another employee has come forward with allegations that seem truly ludicrous.

Karl Hansen, a former Tesla security employee, says there is drug trafficking at Gigafactory 1 and large-scale theft. He has not produced any evidence but hired the same lawyer the “saboteur” has as he too is seeking whistleblower status.

He sent the claims to a few media outlets, saying Tesla had failed to disclose to shareholders the following according to Electrek:

– $37 million worth of copper and other raw materials stolen from the Gigafactory in the first half of 2018;
– Spying on employees, specifically by wiretapping and hacking their cell phones and computers;
– Failing to disclose to local law enforcement and to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency that Gigafactory employees may have been in drug trafficking; and
– Retaliating against Hansen for raising such issues, internally, by firing him in mid-July.

No proof for any of the claims was released.

In a reply, Tesla said “Mr. Hansen’s allegations were taken very seriously when he brought them forward. Some of his claims are outright false.” Well, we somehow expected that much.
