Manz receives large automobile battery order
Manz has received a major order in the double digit million euro range by an unnamed global electric company. The order is to produce the central contacting system for battery cells in electric vehicles is based on the modular LightAssembly platform.
According to the manufacturer, contacting systems are integrated into the electric energy storage, to allow series or parallel connection of lithium-ion battery cells or to carry out voltage measurements in each cell and temperature measurements in the module.
The contract is split into two equal parts. The first was already received by Manz, while the second part is expected for the third quarter of 2018. The order also allows Manz to establish themselves further as a supplier for electric mobility. The LightAssembly platform was initially designed for the consumer electronics market, but was effectively adapted for the automobile industry.
