Rimac’s hypercar C_Two faster than Tesla Roadster
The second vehicle by the Croatian EV manufacturer Rimac Automobili, the C_Two, will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show. The successor to the electric hyper-car Concept_One received a serious performance boost compared to the prior incarnation.
The four electric motors in the C_Two provide 1,408 kW performance, which will allow an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 1.97 seconds. It reaches a 300 km/h speed after 11.8 seconds, and has a top speed of 412 km/h.
The power is provided by a liquid cooled battery pack of 120 kWh. This is enough for a range of up to 650 km (NEFZ). The battery can be charged with a DC charger up to 250 kW, as well as allowing for type 2 charging with a three phase AC battery charger up to 22 kW. It will charge up to 80% capacity in less than 30 minutes.
To compare, the Tesla Roadster is designed as a 2+2 seater, while the Rimac C_Two will only feature 2 seats. Three electric motors accelerate the Roadster from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds. A top speed of at least 400 km/h is also possible with the Roadster, and the 200 kW battery pack allows for a range of 1,000 km.
While the Concept One only sold 8 models, Rimac is planning to build 100 to 150 C_Two models, and wants to sell 20 vehicles in the first year. The price is set at above 1 million euros.
