Tesla fined for excess air pollution
Tesla has to pay a fine in California as authorities found the EV maker guilty polluting the air in excess. It was not the all-electric Tesla cars emitting particles but the factory where they are made.
Malfunctioning equipment at the Tesla Fremont factory emitted high levels of NOx from 2013 through 2016. This has since been corrected and Tesla claims the problem had been left by previous owners such as Toyota and GM. Nevertheless it is the EV maker that paid the 139,500 dollar fine.
