Honda presents CR-V with 7 seats and hybrid motor
Honda has worked on a new serial version of the CR-V for Europe. Debuting in Geneva, the next-gen CR-V sits seven and the lineup includes a hybrid variant. A diesel version however, is missing entirely.
The 2018 CR-V is set to launch in Europe this autumn. The hybrid though will only roll into Honda dealerships from early 2019. At last year’s IAA, Honda had presented a prototype. It was accompanied by the announcement to electric two thirds of the lineup by 2025 on the continent (we reported).
The main feature of the 5th generation CR-V is the space. Honda managed to fit a third row of seats and broadened the door for easier access.
The hybrid version of the CR-V will utilise Honda’s ‘Intelligent Multi Mode Drive’ that couples a 2-litre engine with two electric drives. There will be no diesel variant offered in Europe. Pricing has not been released for the CR-V.
