Kia to partially electrify the new Ceed
Kia has announced that the third generation of their compact vehicle model Ceed will also be electrified but only partially so. In the coming year, the company plans to introduce a mild hybrid version of the car before adding a plug to the hybrid eventually.
Kia will add a 48-volt mild hybrid Ceed next year to the compact cars fossil fuelled engine lineup, the automaker’s CEO for Europe, Michael Cole told Auto News Europe.
The Koreans are also considering a plug-in hybrid Ceed but Kia has no plans for an all-electric version.
Kia will launch the Ceed officially at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
