Toyota unveils hybrid-powered GR Super Sport Concept

The audience of the Tokyo Auto Salon is currently seeing the GR Super Sport Concept presented by Toyota brand Gazoo Racing. The model represents the carmaker’s approach to adapt hybrid tech from racing cars to road vehicles.

The concept car includes components from Toyota’s WEC racing car  TS050 Hybrid and provides a total output of 1,000 PS just as the LMP1 racing car. This remarkable power is due to a 2.4-litre V6 twin turbocharger combined with Toyota’s Hybrid System-Racing (THS-R) powertrain. First test drives shall have already taken place at a racing track in Fuji, Japan.
