Pipistrel’s electric aircraft ready for serial production
The Slovenian manufacturer successfully completed first test flights with its 2-seat electric aircraft in Australia. Just a few months ago, it received a Special Certificate of Airworthiness from Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
There are two options to register the Alpha Electro in the country: either as a recreational aircraft or with CASA. The model can be used for training and moreover to obtain a private pilot license.
The Alpha Electro weighs 350 kilos inclusively battery. Its serial version shall feature a 50 kW electric motor and a 21 kWh battery pack, enabling one hour of electric-powered flying.
