Fisker’s electric luxury sedan EMotion in the spotlights
Fisker has officially introduced its EMotion in Las Vegas. The sedan model with wing doors features a 575 kW motor and is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. Maximum speed is at 250 km/h.
Moreover, Fisker’s EMotion shall run up to 640 km on one charge. What brings us to speak about the model’s battery: Initially, Fisker uses li-ion cells by LG Chem but takes benefit from the CES spotlight to draw already attention to its future battery vision: a patented solid-state battery with an energy density 2.5 times higher than the one of li-ion batteries, claimed to enable more than 800 km of range. Thanks to a not yet further specified “Ultra Charge” tech, charging time shall drop to just one minute.
The order books are now open. The classy car shall hit the stores in 2019 with pricing starting at 129,000 dollars. Its production will be situated in the States – where exactly is not yet known. However, Henrik Fisker says that he will announce the location in the second half of 2018.
